Fam Van Well Aires, Overloon, Netherlands
We stayed at the Fam Van Well campsite, Overloon. We found the site through the Campercontact.com site.
The aires was situated in a lovely quiet village, on a large grass area next to a house. The owners leave you to your own devices but they did pop by briefly. On the site there are 6 hookups available. The cost is only €6.00 (+€2.50 for electric).
Large grass area, Water point, Grey water waster (no chemical waste), Trampoline, go-kart (kids were able to play on)
The beautiful town of overloon with it’s chocolate box houses, is a 15 minute cycle away. Within the town there is a nice supermarket, a few shop, restaurants and cafes. For activities, and the main reason we visited was, we went to Overloon War Museum. Within the main hall of the museum you will always find at least 150 vehicles and cannons on display, most used during WWII.
The equipment on display was collected from 1945 onwards, starting with the scrapped tanks and artillery left behind by both allied and German forces on the Overloon battlefield. Since then, the collection has grown continuously. The boys loved seeing all the vehicles and spent a good few hours exploring the museum.
If you are looking for something a little more active then right next to the entrance was also Klim Kong, a similar version to Go Ape.
Alternatively, on the outskirts of town there is a wildlife park too, which Trip advisor note is a small zoo and takes around 2 hours to visit. We didn’t stop long enough to go but it’s nice to know there is something else within the area if staying for longer.
