A change of plans
Every now and againa it’s time to make a change of plan. And that’s what we’ve done. Don’t worry, no dramas and no injuries/illnesses. Just a rethink!
For anyone who knows me well will know this doesn’t sit too well for me as I’m a planner through and through. But I’m learning to get to grips with adapting!!
We did more driving than we expected to get to northern Spain. It’s been fine, but meant long periods on the road and therefore not out exploring. It would just be nice to be able to stop for a few days and get the bikes out or explore some local villages. In fact, just to get tge table and chairs out would be amazing, ha ha! I can’t believe we’ve been away for nearly 3 weeks!!!
Germany is out… For now
We had previously planned to drive back up to Germany it meant a couple more days driving. We decided that wasn’t for us.
We always expected that our plans would change, but didn’t realise it would be this soon. And I was really looking forward to visiting the castles and black forest area too! But it’s also about finding the right balance.
The drive through France was pretty out of season with cooler weather than anticipated. So we were also in need of a bit of warmth.
Our next stop was due to be the Gorge du Tarn, a beautiful valley with amazing views, kayaking and quaint towns . However, the forecast for the next 3 days is mist, thunderstorms and rain… Hmmmm!?!
Arriving on the French Riviera
Decision made…. We have instead re-routed along the coast to arrive into the French Riviera. While here we are going to sit, reassess, relax and maybe start believing this is all real (it still doesn’t feel it).
I have no idea if Germany will make the cut this time round, but I’m coming round to the idea that less is more!
I’ll update you shortly on the new non-plan!
